Michigan Physical Therapy Schools

Course Requirements for Michigan Physical Therapy Schools

This document is a guide only. Students must consult with their preprofessional advisor AND the appropriate physical therapy schools on a regular basis for revisions to prerequisites and to ensure completion of all application requirements. This guide is based on the completion of a bachelor degree from MSU. Students who will not complete a bachelor degree prior to admission to PT school MUST contact schools regarding additional requirements.

Contact individual schools if you have Advanced Placement (AP) credit for prerequisite requirements. Each professional school has their own policy on whether or not to accept courses from Advanced Placement and Community Colleges. Students must individually contact the schools to determine the requirements.

1 KIN 216 and KIN 217 and KIN 310 and KIN 411 are open to KIN majors only

2 The prerequisite to get into ANTR 485 is at least a 3.0 in ANTR 350 or KIN 216 and KIN 217 or ZOL 328. Also, pre-approval by written application and attendance at the orientation meeting is required for all new students. Enrollment is on a first-come first-serve basis. Contact Beth Clarke (clarkem@msu.edu) for an application and more information. Please see your advisor to discuss planning for this course in detail.

3 To complete the human physiology requirement for Central Michigan University or University of Michigan-Flint, students must also complete a physiology lab. There is no MSU equivalent for non-physiology majors. Students are encouraged to check CMU’s DPT website for equivalencies at other institutions or contact UM-Flint’s DPT Program directly for equivalencies at other institutions.
