Michigan Medical Education Day 2017

  • Sep 6, 2017

What is it?

Michigan Medical Education Day (MMED) began in 2011 through the collaborative work of all of Michigan’s medical schools and pre-health advisors.  It is funded by generous donations from all seven medical schools in Michigan!

MMED 2017 will provide pre-medical students from across the state of Michigan with programs designed to help them explore medicine as a career path and make a well-prepared decision to apply to medical school.  Students will get the chance to hear directly from medical school admissions representatives and pre-health advisors about preparing well, as they discuss topics ranging from activities to interviews, to admission criteria.  This event will also include 2 distinct Panel sessions.  One panel will be comprised of current medical school students who will address questions about their experiences. The second panel will be comprised of Medical School Admission Representatives who will address questions pertaining to applications and admissions.  Lunch will be provided, free of charge.

When and where is it?

Saturday, October 14, 2017, at Eastern Michigan University.  Final details on the specific start and end times are being developed, but we expect MMED 2017 to run approximately from 8 AM until 4 PM.

Who can attend?

This program is designed for current (2017/18) college students who do not have an active medical school application. Michigan residents and/or those attending college in the state of Michigan are particularly encouraged to attend. Those who have already submitted or are in the process of submitting an AMCAS or AACOMAS application for the current application cycle are not eligible to attend this event.
