NatSci's Judy Brown receives Unit Research Administrator Spotlight Award
Published March 14, 2017
Judy Brown, Office of Research Support director in the Michigan State University College of Natural Science (NatSci), is the inaugural recipient of the Unit Research Administrator Spotlight Award from MSU’s Sponsored Programs Administration (SPA), Office of Sponsored Programs and Contract and Grant Administration.
Brown was recognized by these research administration offices for “demonstrating a significant, positive impact and commitment in providing expert service to Michigan State and serving as an inspiration for others who aspire to such service.”
“I am deeply moved and honored to receive this award,” Brown said. “I believe that I would never have received it without the outstanding work that is done by my staff every day. I changed the direction of my career here at MSU about 10 years ago, and feel that I finally have found my place at the university.”
“Judy’s leadership in the Office for Research Support has made it our most successful and efficient service center,” said Dave Dewitt, NatSci senior associate dean for budget, planning, research and administration. “No other NatSci administrative unit receives more praise and appreciation for the work it carries out from the faculty it serves. Judy has done an outstanding job managing pre-award grant support for the college.”
Brown will receive a certificate of accomplishment and a financial award along with the honor. She will also be featured in the spring edition of the SPA newsletter and on the SPA website.
