The MSU College of Natural Science (NatSci) is pleased to announce the appointment of Heidi Purdy as director of undergraduate studies, effective May 15, 2017.

Purdy was a NatSci advisor from 2007 through 2015 and then served as assistant director of academic advising in the college before taking a position as director of the Office of Student Support Services in the MSU College of Nursing, where she is currently employed.

“In addition to her decade of experience as an academic advisor, Heidi brings outstanding organizational skills to our undergraduate office,” said Mark Voit, NatSci associate dean of undergraduate studies. “We are very pleased to welcome Heidi back to NatSci.”

Purdy’s principal responsibilities will be to oversee NatSci’s academic advising efforts, to ensure that the college’s departments and programs are meeting the educational needs of undergraduate students, and to serve as a liaison to the rest of the university’s student support community.

Purdy said that she feels very honored to have been selected as the director of undergraduate studies.

“The College of Natural Science is a very student-centered college that has made student success a priority,” she said. “I look forward to being a part of the innovation and teamwork that will carry the university into the future.”
