Physical Science – Secondary Education
The physical science –secondary education major, which leads to the Bachelor of Science degree, is designed for students who want a broad background in both physics and chemistry and to understand the interrelationships between these disciplines. This major is designed primarily for students who plan to teach physics, chemistry and/or physical science in secondary schools.
Physical Science – Secondary Education Curriculum
The Physical Science – Secondary Education Curriculum comprises of courses that provide students a strong foundational knowledge in mathematics, chemistry and physics. The core curriculum is supplemented with upper-level physical science courses that help students develop problem solving, critical thinking, data analysis and communication skills. Students enroll in Teacher Education courses simultaneously to pursue the secondary-level teacher certification. Details about the Teacher Preparation Application can be found here.
Secondary Education Integrated Science Comprehensive Endorsement/ DI
Students pursuing the Physical Science – Secondary Education major can complete additional courses to obtain the Integrated Science Endorsement. More information can be found here.
