Biological Science – Secondary Education
The biological science –secondary education major, which leads to the Bachelor of Science degree, is designed for students who want a broad background in fields that comprise biological sciences and who want to understand the interrelationships among such fields. This major is designed primarily for students who plan to teach biological sciences in secondary schools.
The Biological Science – Secondary Education Curriculum comprises of courses that provide students a strong foundational knowledge in biology, chemistry and physics. The core curriculum is supplemented with upper-level biological science courses that help students develop problem solving, critical thinking, data analysis and communication skills. Students enroll in Teacher Education courses simultaneously to pursue the secondary-level teacher certification. Details about the Teacher Preparation Application can be found here.
Secondary Education Integrated Science Comprehensive Endorsement/ DI
Students pursuing the Biological Science – Secondary Education major can complete additional courses to obtain the Integrated Science Endorsement. More information can be found here.
