Tips for Success from NatSci Students
Go To Class!
When you feel the urge to skip class, remember, you are paying about $500 per credit!
Take classes to learn, not to get the grade
Your math and science prerequisite courses set the foundation for your upper level biology courses, GPA, and professional /graduate school entrance exams.
Books are EXPENSIVE!
Look for used books or rent books; borrow books from friends if possible.
Meet with your advisor(s) at least once a semester
Your advisors help you keep on track with your graduation requirements and also keep you on track with professional health school/graduate school requirements.
Develop good study habits
Study TWO HOURS every week for each credit you are taking. If you have a 15 credit semester, you should be studying 30 hours! 15+30=45 hours of school work each week! That’s more than the standard, full time job!
Keep Academic Integrity!
One paper or exam grade is DEFINITELY not worth the possibility of getting expelled from MSU or not getting into professional/graduate school because of plagiarism or cheating.
