Cohort Based Programs
Future Academic Scholars in Teaching (FAST) Fellows: The primary goals of the FAST Fellowship Program are to provide opportunities for a diverse group of students to have mentored teaching experiences and gain familiarity with materials on teaching and assessment techniques.
Great IDEA Fellows: A graduate fellowship sponsored by the College of Natural Science to enable projects that promote Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) in STEM at MSU.
MSU BEST: MSU BEST seeks to enhance trainees’ ability to develop the confidence and competencies useful in navigating and choosing from diverse career opportunities.
Sharing Expertise and Exploring Knowledge (SEEK): The Sharing Expertise and Exploring Knowledge (SEEK) program is designed for students who wish to discover ways to communicate knowledge to broader audiences.
Pursuing Intentional Learning in Organizations Together (PILOT): The PILOT Project bridges the gap between graduating students and non-academic professionals. Through reciprocal exchanges in speakers series on career development and diversity, equity, and inclusion trainings, graduating students will prepare themselves for joining the non-academic job market for positive social changes.
The Leadership Fellows Program: The Leadership Fellows Program is a year-long, cohort-based program housed in the Graduate School Office of Well-Being (GROW). It was created to build a stronger and more connected graduate student community at MSU by supporting and providing space for graduate and professional student leaders to engage in change-oriented projects.
CIRCLE Graduate Fellowship: The Center for Interdisciplinary Research, Collaboration, Learning, and Engagement (CIRCLE) will support three doctoral graduate students in the CIRCLE Graduate Fellowship (CGFP). This program will build collaborative and interdisciplinary capacity for the next generation of scholars and educators.
Urban Community Engagement Fellows Program (UCEF): The UCEF Program is a joint initiative of Michigan State University’s Graduate School and the Office of University Outreach and Engagement. UCEF will pair a multidisciplinary team of MSU graduate students with Lansing-area community partners to envision and complete collaborative community-identified projects that make a substantive difference in revitalizing Lansing.
Scholarship of Undergraduate Teaching and Learning (SUTL): The MSU SUTL Fellows program is a collaboration between the Lyman Briggs College and the MSU Graduate School. Its primary goals are to provide a diverse group of graduate students committed to undergraduate education with experience conducting mentored research on undergraduate teaching and learning; familiarity with contemporary instruction and assessment techniques; and professional and career development opportunities related to undergraduate education.
Bailey Scholars Program Fellows: The Liberty Hyde Bailey Scholars Program (BSP) is an integrated learning and leadership community at Michigan State University (MSU). The program was established to foster a diverse learning community where students grow with and from one another while practicing self-directed learning.
CTLI Graduate Fellowship Program: Fellows can expect to join a welcoming community to learn with us, influence the future of higher education, and further develop as leaders and public scholars by becoming a Graduate School/MSU CTLI Fellow.
Facilities
Center for Statistical Training and Consulting (CSTAT): The MSU Center for Statistical Training and Consulting (CSTAT) is a professional service and research unit at Michigan State University. We collaborate on research projects and provide statistical support and services to MSU affiliated faculty, staff, and graduate students, and off-campus clients.
The Writing Center: The Writing Center supports students by offering one-on-one peer writing consultations, writing workshops, graduate and creative writing groups, and student employment
Graduate Educator Advancement and Teaching: The Office for Graduate Educator Advancement and Teaching (GREAT) empowers graduate and professional students as postsecondary instructors. opportunities.
Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching, and Learning (CIRTL): The strategy used by the CIRTL Network is driven by the fact that nearly 80% of all future STEM faculty in the United States come from only 100 research universities. Reaching graduate students and postdocs at CIRTL institutions can have a transformative effect on the future practice of STEM teaching and learning everywhere they secure academic positions.
Graduate Career Development: The office of Graduate Career Development in the MSU Graduate School provides multiple online resources, as well as workshops and advising, to support the many paths graduate students choose to pursue.
