NatSci seniors honored with MSU Board of Trustees Awards

Twenty-seven (27) Michigan State University College of Natural Science (NatSci) students were among 130 students who received an MSU Board of Trustees (BOT) Award for earning a 4.0 GPA — the highest scholastic average — at the close of their last semester before graduation. 

“On behalf of the College of Natural Science, I would like to congratulate this exceptional group of NatSci graduates on their distinguished academic achievements at MSU,” said Lynmarie Posey, NatSci associate dean for undergraduate studies.

The NatSci students are:

Brooke L. Boger of Oxford, Mich. Boger is a genomics and molecular genetics major in the College of Natural Science. Boger is also a member of the Honors College and attended Oxford High School.

Paul W. Clancy III of South Lyon, Mich. Clancy is a neuroscience major in the College of Natural Science. Clancy is also a member of the Honors College and attended South Lyon East High School.

Matthew P. Corsi of Rochester, Mich. Corsi is a human biology major in the College of Natural Science. Corsi attended Rochester Adams High School.

Nina R. Darwich of Sterling Heights, Mich. Darwich is a human biology major in the College of Natural Science. Darwich attended Adlai E. Stevenson High School-Livonia.

Noah K. Dean of East Lansing, Mich. Dean is an advanced mathematics major in the College of Natural Science. Dean is also a member of the Honors College and attended Community High School.

Ashley N. Dunn of Howell, Mich. Dunn is a zoology major in the College of Natural Science. Dunn is also a member of the Honors College and attended Howell High School.

Kelly R. Gilbertson of Lansing, Mich. Gilbertson is a biological science major in the College of Natural Science. Gilbertson attended Western High School Parma. 

Amanda C. Gorr of Richmond, Mich. Gorr is a neuroscience major in the College of Natural Science. Gorr is also a member of the Honors College and attended Richmond High School.

Lindsay A. Guare of Deerfield, Ill. Guare is majoring in biochemistry and molecular biology in the College of Natural Science and computer science in the College of Engineering.

Simrah N. Hamid of Ada, Mich. Hamid is a human biology major in the College of Natural Science. Hamid is also a member of the Honors College and attended Forest Hills Eastern High School.

Jacob E. Hieber of Saline, Mich. Hieber is a microbiology major in the College of Natural Science. Hieber attended Saline High School.

Hope L. Lewis of Holt, Mich. Lewis is an actuarial science major in the College of Natural Science. Lewis is also a member of the Honors College and attended Holt High School.

Virginia Z. Lindberg of Minneapolis, Minn. Lindberg is an environmental biology/zoology major in the College of Natural Science. Lindberg is also a member of the Honors College and attended Southwest High School.

Sophia A. Perrelli of Lansing, Mich. Perrelli is a human biology major in the College of Natural Science. Perrelli is also a member of the Honors College and attended East Lansing High School.

Morgan R. Porter of Rochester, Mich. Porter is a physiology major in the College of Natural Science. Porter is also a member of the Honors College and attended Stoney Creek High School.

Emma B. Rhodes of Grand Blanc, Mich. Rhodes is a human biology major in the College of Natural Science. Rhodes attended Lake Fenton High School.

Alexa L. Richardson of Novi, Mich. Richardson is a human biology major in the College of Natural Science. Richardson is also a member of the Honors College and attended Northville High School.

Mitchell T. Selin of Lansing, Mich. Selin is a physiology major in the College of Natural Science. Selin attended East Lansing High School.

Xinning Shan of Gaomi, China. Shan is majoring in statistics as well as mathematics in the College of Natural Science. Shan is also a member of the Honors College and attended No. 1 High School Gaomi.

Ashleigh N. Simmonds of Lapeer, Mich. Simmonds is a neuroscience major in the College of Natural Science. Simmonds attended Lapeer High School.

Brent W. Strong of Saline, Mich. Strong is a physiology major in the College of Natural Science. Strong is also a member of the Honors College and attended Escola Pan Americana da Bahia. 

Caroline J. Szabo of Midland, Mich. Szabo is majoring in human biology in the College of Natural Science and in supply chain management in the The Eli Broad College of Business. Szabo is also a member of the Honors College and attended Herbert Henry Dow High School. 

Mia A. Tavian of Canton, Mich. Tavian is a chemistry major in the College of Natural Science. Tavian attended Canton High School.

Emily C. Tenniswood of Marysville, Mich. Tenniswood is a neuroscience major in the College of Natural Science. Tenniswood is also a member of the Honors College and attended Saint Clair High School.

Mary C. Vondra of Mason, Mich. Vondra is a microbiology major in the College of Natural Science. Vondra is also a member of the Honors College and attended Mason High School

Andrew L. Waack of West Branch, Mich. Waack is a human biology major in the College of Natural Science. Waack is also a member of the Honors College and attended Ogemaw Heights High School.

Luke R. Wiljanen of Ishpeming, Mich. Wiljanen is an advanced mathematics major in the College of Natural Science. Wiljanen is also a member of the Honors College and attended Westwood High School.
