Media & Public Relations

The Marketing Office in the College of Natural Science (NatSci) offers support to faculty for media requests and to talk through ideas to promote research and scholarship more broadly.

The NatSci Marketing Office shares articles with University Communications and other targeted media as makes sense based on the news value and topical angles. We can also support targeted news story pitches to highlight your work and scholarship and track faculty media mentions using the PR and media outreach tool Cision.

2024 Spring Media Training Workshop

The overview workshop, How to Amplify Your Work through Media & PR, will be available to the NatSci faculty with presenters from University Communications and the NatSci Marketing Office.

Other Opportunities 2024 and Beyond

There is also planning around other future media training opportunities, including university-wide lunch and learn events and exploration of ways to partner with departments and existing fellowship programs within the College of Natural Science.

University Communications Media & PR Resources

The NatSci Marketing Office serves as a liaison to contacts in University Communications to help amplify college and faulty research news and impacts in MSU communications channels and beyond. We also collaborate to tie experts and work from the NatSci into university planned editorial calendars and content.

For faculty and academic staff, University Communications offers an Academic Toolkit to offer resources to help explain your work in language that is compelling and understandable to the public.
