NatSci Cultural Competency Workshop
Background
In fall 2020, the NatSci DEI Facilitation Team started offering Cultural competency for personal, organizational and community change, for NatSci faculty, staff, specialists, administrators, postdocs and graduate students.
The multiple session workshop, started in spring 2021, was adapted from the full-day workshop developed by Karen Pace, director of Pace 4 Change, and Dionardo Pizaña, diversity and personnel specialist, Michigan State University Extension.

Skills Development Workshops
Attendance at the Cultural Competency for Personal, Organization, and Community Change workshop is encouraged but not required. Building on this workshop, every session we will have new practice scenarios to help participants develop skills to handle bias incidents, microaggressions, and discrimination that occur in STEM classrooms and workspaces.
Currently we do not have any plans to hold skills development workshops this upcoming semester, but be aware for any updates we may have later.
